ELGIN PARK IN-HOUSE SCHOLARSHIPS Donated by local businesses, families, and community members, In-house Scholarships are awards given specifically to Elgin Park students based on criteria that is set by the generous donors. Students do not apply for individual In-house Scholarships. They simply fill out the general In-house Scholarship form in order to be considered for the various scholarships that are available. A scholarship committee - made up of Elgin Park teachers, counsellors and administrators - reviews all of the applications and after many meetings, the committee narrows down and selects the best candidate for each scholarship. In-house Scholarship awards will be presented to students at our commencement ceremony in June. Applications are submitted by completing the online application below. Before completing the online application, we ask all students to download and fill out the sample PDF application on paper, then transfer the information into the online form.The online applicationtakes approximately 1 hour to complete. If you leave the online form, and try to go back, your information will be lost.
DISTRICT / AUTHORITY SCHOLARSHIPS District/Authority scholarships are awards that are funded by the BC Ministry of Education and distributed by the Surrey School District to individual schools, Typically Elgin Park will receive approximately 25-30 District/Authority scholarships to award to graduating students for excellence in 7 different areas of strength or interest:
Applied Design, Skills and Technologies
Community Service
Fine Arts
Indigenous Languages and culture
International Languages
Physical Activity
Technical and Trades Training
The recipients of these awards are selected "in-house" by a committee of Elgin Park staff members. Students apply for these scholarships by completing the application below. Applications will be separated by category and forwarded to each category's departmental committee to narrow down and select the award winners, A $1250 scholarship voucher to use towards their post-secondary tuition is awarded to each of the scholarship winners. District/authority awards will be presented to students at our commencement ceremony in June.
